Recently I bought items that boasts whitening formulation. From my body lotion to the type of toothbrush I picked for myself, I have become obsessed with whitening products. I guess I’m a sucker for advertising campaigns. I fell for them easily eventhough I know these are just a part of their manipulation program. Knowing these facts I still go believing the products and the supposed benefits they provide.
My skin colour is like the colour of teh susu (milk tea) and as a woman, I like the idea of being fair. Though, technically its impossible for me due to my mixed heritage and genes. My dad has super duper dark skin while my mom is super fair (even fairer then chinese). While my dad’s side is part Arab, my mom’s side is part Chinese. Therefore I end up being the way I am. I used to be darker, like the colour of mocha. All thanks to hours spending outside playing at the playground, netball (in primary n secondary school) and also PE. Climbing trees and going under drains were also part of the usual drill around my house (before the other houses were up) when I was younger.
