This is going to be a very short post. It seems almost everyone around me is confused about what eating ‘Halal‘ means. I still get questions about where or what I can eat. And if it’s a non ‘Halal’ establishment is it okay?
As most Singaporeans would already know, halal = no pork, no lard. But it also means no alcohol of any form and that the MEAT (with exception of SEAFOOD) should be prepared according to Islamic regulations.
To some the lines might still be very gray. But to me, it is very clear on what I can or cannot eat. And just because Billy Bombers is not a halal establishment that doesn’t mean I deprive myself from one of the most best served milkshakes in Singapore.

I agree with u there. there is no harm in drinking or even sitting down with friends in places that are not halal.
e problem lies with e issue of ppl talking n taking it for granted that we are patronising a non halal place.
worse is e notion of ‘eh, ada budak melayu so ni tempat mesti boleh makan’ notion that e majority of ppl would think.
Hi, nice post. I couldn’t understand some parts of the article but it sounds interesting..
