X-Files: I want to Believe

Ahh! The X-Files: I want to Believe certainly brings back wonderful memories from my fat chubby geeky primary and secondary school days. I remembered how shows like Weird Science & The X-Files tweaked my mind into loving Science. I was an avid fan, making sure that i never missed a single episode. I would stop everything, even my homework, to ensure i catch the show at around 8:30pm on Channel 5. Who can forget Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), the straight thinking and ever so practical physician that will continuously question and disagree with Mulder’s perceptions. And how can we ever forget the star of the show Fox Mulder (David Duchovny)? The ever so cool Mulder with his slack get-up and ever intriguing, curiousity over paranormal investigations. Always choosing the weird cases with perceptions that there is a paranormal reason behind it.  Who can ever forget the poster pasted up on the wal screaming out words: I Want To Believe.

It has been 10 years since the last X-Files movie. Ten long years. Most kids nowadays don’t even know what the X-Files is. I guess my generation is one of the lucky few to remember and cherish this brilliant show by Chris Carter (also the maker of Millenium). My brother and I will always analyse and predict what’s happening and what are the conspiracy’s running behing the plot.  I remember whenever an episode had been shown, i will be rushing to school the next day discussing about last nights episode with my Geek friends. “It was like so cool! I never would have expected the killer to be a man that could disappear into water. Woah!” Haha. Memories indeed. An episode that i will never forget was when the Cigarette-Smoking Man killed Fox Mulder’s dad (which was also in the conspiracy). Haha! Fun times indeed.

Although the drama series ended quite lame without even giving any juicy reasons, I still am going to look forward to watching this sequel movie. Why? Basically, it answers parts which we weren’t left to know. What happened to Dana Scully’s child? Is he human? Are Fox and Dana finally able to settle down peacefully or are they still being hunted down by the Governement? What more about the conspiracy? Will any actions be taken against it? We may not have all the solutions but i hope at least some questions will be answered.

Synopsis

In this sequel, both Dana Scully and Fox Mulder are reunited and called back to aid the FBI in a paranormal investigations over a the missing of a couple of gals and are aided by a psychic. As always, things are not simple as there in lies a supernatural reason behind the case.

It seems like a typical episode so I am wondering if they are able to stretch it into full-featured movie. But i guess, if you are a true hardcore X-Files fan, then shouldn’t you be in the cinema by now.
