First of all, welcome to my first ever FOTD (face of the day). I’ve been wanting to do something like this for ages. Before I proceed, once again, Eid Mubarak and Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all my muslim readers and friends.
Now, since I’m an amateur at applying makeup, this the best FOTD I can come up with. I was going for a simple fresh look with eyeshadows to match my outfit (unfortunately, my eyes are too small for eyeshadow colours to be seen).

Since I’m not reviewing any specific makeup or brand and since I’ve limited makeup supply, below are the products I have available/used for my first ever FOTD.
Face
- Revlon ColorStay® Mineral Foundation in Light Medium 040
- The Body Shop Sun Lustre Bronzer in Radiant Blush
- MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Peachtwist
I started with the Revlon ColorStay® Mineral Foundation in Light Medium 040 as base (just because I was too lazy to apply liquid foundation and because I was going for a slightly more natural and light look). I then dust The Body Shop Sun Lustre Bronzer in Radiant Blush all over my face, followed by my MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Peachtwist and more Sun Lustre Bronzer so that I have a more sunkissed glowing look.
Eyes
-
MAC Multi-Effects Eyeshadow Lightful 12 Colours Palette
-
Stila Kitten Eyeshadow Palette in Eyeshadow Prize (Turquoise)

- Maybelline Volum’ Express HyperCurl in Very Black

Because of my very small eyes, the end effect of my amateurish eyeshadow blending wasn’t well done. Also, I took the above picture about 15 minutes after I was done and since I’ve very oily eyelids, you can see how the eyeshadow oxidises and crease. I started off with the MAC Multi-Effects Eyeshadow in pearl as base, followed by Stila Kitten Eyeshadow in Eyeshadow Prize (Turquoise).
After I was done with the eyeshadows, I applied a couple coats of Maybelline Volum’ Express HyperCurl in Very Black. I first dab excess mascara onto tissue to have a more natural looking eyelashes. This technique also helps the mascara to not look clumpy.
Lips
- Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Gloss in Sheer Blush

As for my lips, I just applied the Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Gloss in Sheer Blush. The lipgloss comes with a cooling sensation and the sheer blush shade gives off a natural colour.
Did I not warn you of my amateurish techniques? Lol. But in the end, I am quite happy with the outcome. I am still learning the proper techniques of applying makeup. Although, currently, the basics are sufficient for me.
Anyways, here is a photo of me and my niece Arina Akari. She turns four today.

(This was taken hours ago when we celebrated Eid cum her birthday at my cousin’s Pasir Ris home.)
