HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3: Senior Year

This is the last chance

to make your mark

History will know

who we are

This is the last game

So make it count

It’s Now or Never!

Damn! That song is stuck in my head! Its like a Kylie Minogue song that keeps on going. Ever since I caught the trailer with Nurul & her family while catching a 1245am Eagle Eye screening. OH MY GOD! Eagle EYE RULESSS! Damn! Although the storyline wasn’t original but damn was it entertaining and action packed. Not even a single moment to catch our breath. But wait, let’s get back to that song which is stuck in my head.

HSM 3 will be out this October 24th & Nurul has been bugging me all week to find a way to get tickets for the premiere! Haha. She so badly wants to for this movie”s premiere. Well, i don’t know what’s so special about this movie (Other than it’s a Disney musical with stars like Vanessa Hudgens who had that ‘scandalous’ topless picture & Zac Efron with his plastic ‘Barbie Doll Ken Face’.) But i do know this, I love making Nurul happy. If watching HSM 3 premiere makes her happy, then so be it.

From the trailer, it looks like a cool, clean & wholesome American high school unlike those seen in Gossip Girls or Beverly Hills 90210. The story revolves around the same characters Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens), Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) & Chad (Corbin Blue). However, this is their last year in High School & their pulling out all the stops to achieve their aims in life. Its funny, cause it reminded me about my Graduation Year in Catholic Junior College.

Way back in 2002, I was this plump geeky mummy’s boy wearing my $100 Robinson’s shirt going for prom night. I will never forget that night cause although it wasn’t what i dreamt of (You know the hair, the suit & the hot babe), but I had loads of fun. I remember sitting at the table with the whole Malay gang : My bro, Irfan, Saliheen, Hafeez, Suraya, Mustafa, Ahmad, Lenny & Siti. I think. (Sorry if i forgot anyone else, it’s been a while.) :)  It was fun with lots of ogling & great laughter. I can always see Sharizman in his fake boobs and dress costume standing on the table. Faez and Alvin looking smashing in their pimp suits. And the amount of hairspray around the room must have caused at least a one degree increase in the World’s atmosphere. I treasured and cherished that night as i spent time with my classmates Eugene, Parry, Paul, Gavin, Shiyun & Anin (I think, once again, sorry if i forgot any names!). We spent the night away just chatting down Orchard Road, sitting near the Mac Donald’s, thinking how our lives would unfold in the future. Surprisingly, nothing much has changed. I always thought whether i could have changed anything during my JC days but i guess I have always been one to never look back at the past. Just learn from my past and keep on walking…

Well, interestingly enough, I am in my Final Graduation Year at Nanyang Technological University. Class of 2009. And am really looking forward for the Prom Night. This time I want it all. Haha. The hair, the suit  (Maybe a pimp cream suit styled by Hugo Boss? Can keep for my wedding. Haha) and the babe! (Nurul of course! Hehe!) We will see how the shopping goes although I do have to lose a little weight. But am sure of one thing, it will be loads of fun and fond memories for me to cherish for a lifetime. Have fun!

Catch Walt Disney Pictures’ High School Musical 3: Senior Year in cinemas from October 24!
