DM ARCHERY at Suntec City

I certainly had a wonderful and entertaining weekend. It’s been a while since this engaged couple went out to have fun. Life’s been kinda tight with work so it is great to finally let our hair’s loose and run like crazy animals. Okay, not that loose. Haha.

While waiting for our movie to begin at Eng Wah Suntec City, (Yes! We finally completed the Underworld: Rise of the Lycans Installment. It’s a nice show although I guess they were just trying to milk the very last drops of cash from this fantasy thriller.) we chanced upon an amazing shop with a cool sport that has lasted for countless of ages. Since the days when Men were beasts and scoured the land for fresh meats, the bow and arrow have been their closest companion. Yes, it’s Archery!

DM Archery’s latest outlet (Their first outlet is at SAFRA Tampines) is a company run by Archery Enthusiasts. From the outside, it looked like an Archery merchandise store. But don’t be fooled, they actually have a cool archery range inside. Nurul and I were just lazily passing by when I noticed a sign saying “$4.50 for 12 Arrows”. I was like, woah! That’s quite cheap. I have always been wanting to be like Legolas (Lord of the Rings) and shooting arrows with my eyes closed. (Although i missed terribly with one closed. HAHA!) I looked at Nurul and my dear loving enthusiast gave an agreement nod to finally set forth the hunter within us.

The shop have a helpful staff & we were well trained by Daniel the Archery Master! He gave us our safety gear and became the perfect mentor guiding us how to tame our bows. Nurul was given the female’s bow (which is way lighter than the Man’s one. But hey, no sweat for this tough guy! Hehe.) The bows that we used were indeed much easier and better than the traditional bows. All you had to do was stand side ways to the target, rest the bow on your hips. Breathe in and out and finally bring the bow to eye level. Then slot the bow and finally pull the bow with 3 of ur fingers fully extending. You then take a deep breath and HEY PRESTO! You have finally killed your first deer. Err, Target i mean. Haha.

I felt the hunger grew within me as I gained my animalistic instincts of hunting. The sheer adrenaline and thrill of targeting your prey, feel it’s ever glance. Like a hunter begging for blood, you smelt it’s fear. Sheer rush fills your body as you pulled onto your bow. Trepidation fills your hands as you aim as a graceful bee waiting to sting it’s target with the killer blow. Upon hitting the target, you feel excitement & gloriuous achievement filling every vein of your body as you see the arrow hitting dead on the target.

Haha. Trust me, you wouldn’t be able to get the target with the first couple of tries. However, with manual zeroing & patience, you will get the hang of it. Indeed, Nurul and I improved with each arrow blazing across the range. Be careful of Nurul, she is indeed a mean killer like Drow Ranger Travex with her arrows always hitting the target. As for me, I was just exhilerated that i finally hit my bull’s eye with my final arrow. 12 arrows is quite fun although am looking forward to having 2 rounds the next time i head there. In the meantime, Nurul and I will be doing many push ups to strenghten our left hands. Hahaa.  By the way, DM Archery is having  a Top 6 competition for newbies. Head on down & your scores will be tabulated for the competition. Numerous prizes are in store for the Top 6 shooters of the month.
