Barcelos: Potuguese Chicken
Well there is a new fast food restaurant in town that has just turned HALAL. As being the food lovers that we are, Nurul and I head on down to VivoCity to savour the tastes of Portuguese Chicken Barcelos!
From the land of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho, comes the spices of Barcelos chicken. Marination with spices must be a wonderful specialty in the portuguese blood as certainly their Barcelos Flame Grilled Chicken has only one word to describe it - PERFECTION! Barcelos falls under the category of Pastmania, good home or restaurant food served in a fast food way without the service charge. Prices are similar to that of Pastamania as well ranging to $20 for a meal for 2 people. However, the food is great value for money especially once you have the taste of their peri-peri sauce and its amazing spices. Word of warning though, please do not try their steak or Prego grills. The chickens are perfect and that’s their specialty. Their steaks were disappointing with it being rubbery and difficult to swallow once you bite into their meat. The ambience is excellent with cool cozy cabins that make intimate dining sessions with your loved ones. And one that is certainly a wonderful treat is the free flow of drinks. So please head on down to Barcelos and enjoy their irresistible chicken at VivoCity located on Level 2 beside Long John Silvers and opposite of Ben n Jerry’s.
