La Roche-Posay: Anthelios AC Fluid Extreme SPF 30

Published by FaiNur at 1:05 am under Beauty

First of all, I have to say this post is long overdue. In fact, this is not the only overdue post of mine. I have many more reviews and posts to blog about. But as usual, time is never on my side.

Nevertheless, I shall dedicate the next half hour to this blog post. Recently, if you’ve read a post written by Fai, he blogged about a well-known sunscreen from La Roche Posay.

Now, I shall blog about a similar sunscreen from the same brand, La Roche Posay’s Anthelios AC Fluid Extreme SPF 30.

Anthelios AC30

The kind people from L’Oreal Singapore, had invited me and Fai to sample out some of their products. One of them being the said sunscreen.

Many of us have probably seen the brand La Roche Posay around in Watsons, Guardian, other local drug stores and even in hospitals. Yes, La Roche Posay is a series of skin care products with very clean white packaging.

Now, I was recommended the Anthelios AC Extreme Fluid SPF 30 as I’ve combination skin which is more to the oilier side. On top of that, being a woman who is so concerned about her appearance, the good people recommended Anthelios AC Extreme Fluid SPF 30 because of its UVA and UVB protecting properties.

A quick fact/read about UVA and UVB is that, UVA (A stands for Age and Allergies) – UVA rays penetrate deeply into the skin and can reach the dermis, accelerating skin ageing and can cause sun intolerances.

Meanwhile, UVB (B stands for Burn) – UVB basically stimulate tanning and are mainly responsible for sunburn.

Now, being vain, I definitely would want to avoid those two culprits.

With both anti UVA and UVB properties, I definitely can say that my skin will be very well protected.

However, like any other sun protection fluid, you need to keep reapplying every once in awhile. The good thing about the Anthelios AC Extreme Fluid SPF 30 is that it is suitable for people like me (some who rarely goes out and under the sun). I prefer the shade and I usually carry an umbrella (rain or shine). So applying it once in the morning is actually quite sufficient.

During testing, I layered it on my hand and I absolutely LOVED the feeling. The fluid’s texture is light and slightly runny. On top of that, it absorbs into my skin within minutes.

But when applied onto my face, I experienced noodling which made me feel like I was exfoliating my skin using sunblock. Maybe it is my skin, and maybe the sunscreen is reacting with some of my other facial products. But if you are like me, you would prefer opting to the earlier sunblock from Fai’s post Anthelios XL 50+ SPF Cream. Otherwise, this is the perfect sunscreen for you.

Retailing at S$36, I say, the Anthelios AC Extreme Fluid SPF 30 is definitely a good buy if you’re not too particular about slight noodling.

P.S. Do check out La Roche Posay’s blog too – La Roche-Posay Singapore ;) A quick read from their blog states that Leighton Meester aka Blair Waldorf is a fan too! :D
