Kiehl’s Blemish Control Treatment Review

It has indeed been awhile. My last blog post was over a month ago. I can’t help myself cause everytime I sit in front of the computer, I blanked out. Either that or I get very distracted reading other more interesting blogs on the internet. Hehe.

Ok, so I digress. But let’s get down to serious business. It is time for my official review of Kiehl’s Blemish Control Daily Skin-Clearing Treatment.

I’ve been using Kiehl’s Blemish Control for nearly two months and I must say, I LOVE IT!

Formulated with a powerful blend of blemish-fighting Dioic, Salicylic and Lipo Hydroxy Acids, known to minimize the appearance of acne and blemishes.

Tried and tested: Worthy cleansers for your bacne woes

This year, I’m turning 27. But my skin still thinks that it’s still at the prepubescent stage. I still get occasional breakouts on my face and back. But just a couple years back, my skin was at its worst.

Battling facial skin woes is one thing, but to get zits on my back as well. It was like adding salt to my wound. My skin problems just worsened and it doesn’t seem to get any better at all.

Fortunately for me, I’ve always been quite experimental in trying out products to help cure my back problems. I’ve got nothing to lose any way. My patience finally paid off. I tried many different products and these three I’ve chosen are the creme de la creme for your back acne or bacne woes.

1. Acne Aid Cleansing Bar

This was the first product I tried to help get rid of my back problems. What attracted me to it, is the words – ACNE AID. Yes, the words jumped right at me and it did aid me in battling back acne. I’ve done an earlier review on this product here. But I’m repeating it again, because I know it works. :)

What’s great about the Acne Aid is that it doesn’t dry out my skin and it’s fragrance free. I used to rub it again my loofah pouf together with a little bit of water and the soap foams really well. I like soaps that foams well, easier to cleanse your whole body. It also make me feel cleaner. Hahaa.

The Acne Aid really helped reduce my back acne significantly.

2. Lactcyd Cleansing Liquid (Lactcyd Blue)

Don’t be surprised by the name of this cleanser. Yes, it reminds you of the feminine wash. Why shouldn’t it? It has the same name. Hehee..

Anyways, this verysion of Lactcyd is a cleansing liquid with milk extract. I was told that it has PH 3.5 to help control the natural acidity of our skin. So whatever you hear about Johnson’n'Johnson’s PH 5.5, is utter rubbish. Fai told me that PH 5.5 is alkali. Meanwhile, our skin has slight acidity. Whatever that means.

All I know is that milk is good. Good for the bones and even skin. Cleopatra used to immerse herself in milk remember? That’s why we’re so obsessed with milk for the body as well. The milk extract also helps maintain natural moisture to our skin. Lactcyd is so gentle that it can also be used on babies.

Lactcyd is also my go-to body wash for holidays. I love how it lathers really well on my loofah and I can even substitute it with my shampoo.

3. Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser

Most skin cleansers remove more than they should. Cetaphil cleansers cleanse, moisturise and gently remove what your skin doesn’t need, without stripping away natural emollients and oils.

Currently, I’m using Cetaphil as my shower gel. And I love it! I’m at my third bottle already and that says a lot. However, I still do get occasional breakouts – I guess most of the time it’s hormonal.

The downside is, it doesn’t lather as much and I end up using a lot. You know your body has more skin as compared to your face, so that’s a lot of wastage. But if it works, I guess it’s worth it.

I’ve colleagues, friends and acquaintances who swears by this product. Some of them have been using them since they were in their teens.

Overall review

These products are definitely worth the money. They are your affordable drugstore brands. If you haven’t given any of them a try and you’re still battling acne, you should.

What other products would you recommend for those plagued with acne?

Murad Beauty Spree at BHG Bugis Junction

Being a beauty junkie is not healthy for ones’ wallet. As a beauty junkie myself, I can definitely vouch for this.

Barely into the first week of September, I am already down to a couple of hundred dollars. :S

But somehow I could not help myself but to purchase another acne treatment or another skincare product (Oh, who am I kidding? I just can’t help myself from shopping. Period!)

I was looking around for a good concealer cum acne treatment when I chanced upon an article featuring various two-in-one concealer in last couple of week’s Urban. Of course the one product that catches my eye was the Murad Acne Treatment Concealer.
