Casual meets Formal

Published by FaiNur under Fashion

A wonderful day for a wonderful person (especially Nurul’s Birthday!), everything must be perfect. From gifts to events to food and most importantly the attire! It took me quite a while to decided what should i wear for Nurul’s birthday. (You can say like a month!) Different clothes, mix matches with different themes kept on interplaying within my mind. I wanted to have something new to impress Nurul. Unfortunately i was low on cash due to the event thus i had to improvise. I was about to sought back to the Floral Zara shirt when lightning stuck me. Finally, i came up with this. Nice, ain’t it?

P. Ramlee: The Legendary Performer

Published by FaiNur under Lifestyle, Random

I just caught a glimpse of the life of one of the most famous Malay performers ever known around the world. The legendary P. Ramlee. I heard of the play being shown in Malaysia staring Sean Ghazi as P. Ramlee with the amazing Datuk Siti Nurhaliza as the long lost love Azizah. It was a big hit in Malaysia and I was looking forward to them coming to Singapore after their performance in Kuala Lumpur in 2007. It’s 25,000 tickets were sold out even before the musical began. When i heard that it was in town for this special 3 day performance (from 17-19 May), i just knew i had to get the tickets. Thus, i rushed down to VivoCity on Friday afternoon and immediately bought two $80 tickets for my mom and I.

Year End Shopping FOR MEN

Published by under Fashion

Well its time to show you guys my great deals from the year-end sales. Honestly, Christmas Sale is not as good as the Year-End Sales cause the shops want to clear their goods for the incoming merchandise. Went shopping with my best shopping buddy, NURUL! In total, i spent $343 on clothes. It certainly beats shopping and its so fun to count the savings you made. Honestly, don’t spend for the whole year, save it all to splurge on the great year-end sales. Furthermore, i shall be showcasing my friend, Azhari, buys as well. We mainly shopped at two places, Orchard Road and VivoCity.

These are my buys.
First off, i got two tops from Esprit both at $19.90 each. Esprit is having a 50% off. I kinda like the cutting and always have been a fan of Esprit designs. Azhari got a limited edition MTV European Music Awards 2007 jumper with cool rainbow trimmings at the ends around $90.

Then i got 2 tops at $20 and a pair of shades at $13 from Topman. The cool shirt is going for $60. They are having 60% sale. Wanted to get a pair of skinny jeans but then thought otherwise.
dscn4356.jpg dscn4638.jpg
After that we visited River Island. River Island was simply fantabulous. It slashed all items prices by 50%. I nearly went mad being spoilt for choice with the clothes. I got myself 3 shirts, each costing me a cheap $50 considering it is a UK brand. The jeans which has dual colour is going for only $80 from $169.

Well, we then pop into the next shop, Pull & Bear. They are having crazy offers with tops going for $9.90 , jackets at $49.90 and jeans at $59.90. I got for myself two tops. A t-shirt at $19.90 and a long sleeve at $24.90.

After that, it was to none other than Zara. I was actually kinda disappointed with them as i had a few t-shirts in mind. Infortunately, they hid them only placing their the old stock for sale. They have a 30% off. The only thing that caught my eye was this hat going for a mere $15.90.

Finally, the Buy of the Day was done none other than by Azhari. He got a nice cool cutting shirt with excellent cloth material (seems awfully like the Hadi Mirza shirt) from Ted Baker. Ted Baker is going at 50% off with all its merchandise. Indeed a steal at a cool $90.

Well people, am $300 bucks poorer now but indeed it’s all worth it. Can’t wait for school to begin so i can start showing off my prized catches. Haha. Enjoy the holidays and have a great 2008!

Ted Baker Shirts @ VivoCity

Published by under Fashion

Yesterday, we decided to explore VivoCity at HarbourFront, Singapore. I was actually hoping to catch the Christmas Sales and wanted to get a few shirts before the mad rush during the weekend.

To my utter disappointment, there were no sales. I guess they are waiting for next week before they start their Christmas Clearance Sale. (I think they know that people buy Christmas Gifts last minute so its better to entice them later instead of now.)

Well we then just walked around to see the Men’s fashion. Zara had the typical clothes and wasn’t interested in any except for a unique t-shirt (i will post it when i buy it) . Same with Giordano/U2/G2000. Gap was atrocious with it’s ridiculous line of fashion for men though that didn’t stop people from buying it (honestly over-rated thanks largely to it being an American brand & typical Singaporeans going for brand and price rather than quality & design). Topman line concentrated heavily on the typical teenager/young adult fashion blaring it’s alternative British look. River Island too seems to be a copycat of Topman.

However, i chanced upon this quaint nice looking shop known as Ted Baker. It looked just like a typical boutique having the same lines of clothes. What a false assumption that would have been! It was indeed a TREASURE TROVE!

Ted Baker is a boutique GOD-SEND (can’t avoid the connection to Adam Monroe of Heroes Season 2). It’s a gift from the heavens as it’s style is utterly unique and original with a touch of class. Its designs avoided the typical bland stripe shirts which are everywhere now and the quality of the shirts are simply to die for. Touching it alone can make you go like “I wanna wear this for the rest of my life”.

Here are samples

The only disadvantage is that it’s kinda expensive. Around $100 – $150 for a shirt due to it being a London brand. However, i am eagerly awaiting for their Christmas Sale. Hahaha. Happy Shopping PEOPLE!
