Year End Shopping Fever

I love end of the years. Besides big bonuses and long holidays, everywhere I go I can see the ‘S’ sign. SALE! Yes!! Its that time of the year again; after Christmas – ‘End of Season SALE’.

I am not a shopaholic but I love indulging in good deals. And recently I splurge about S$300 on just tops. I went crazy walking around VivoCity with my bestest shopping buddy, Fai. Uh huh.. Fai is my shopping buddy. Yes, eventhough he is my boyfriend, that doesn’t stop him from being crudely honest. And if the shoes don’t fit, he’ll straight point it out to me. He had to made sure I shopped within my budget. I exceeded by S$7.

We started our shopping agenda by heading to Mango first, as they are having a crazy sale where you can get S$90 over tops at half-price. I had actually eyed one of the tops there, but regrettably they were no more in stock and the other outlets have sizes too big for me or they are damaged. However, that didn’t stop me from getting a long-sleeved orange Mango basic tee at S$14. The usual price for a basic tee from Mango is S$25.

So, on to our next stop which I literally went crazy. Forever 21. There weren’t any signs out on their glass panels indicating a SALE but as me and Fai moved around the outlet, we were carrying outfits on hangers on both arms. YES!! I was mental! The kind salesgirl took it from us as we continue going around picking more clothes. Neatly tuck at the back of the store is the sales corner.

When Forever 21 first came to Singapore I thought their items were over-priced. Until my recent shopping spree I find that they were incredibly affordable. My total damage from Forever 21 is S$177. I bought a total of 5 tops from there. All the tops I bought were below S$50 (can you believe it?!)

These are some of the cute finds available at Forever 21.

After going crazy at Forever 21, I bought 2 basic long sleeve tees yet again from Zara for S$12.90 each. Fai also managed to get a few steal from River Island. They were going at half-price. And if I didn’t exceed my budget I would have added more clothes to my year-end shopping collection from River Island.

My next stop will be the Metro Expo Sale. Though its just right behind my house (technically speaking). I’ve yet to have a look at what they have to offer. I love buying lingeries at SALES!

I must say that year-end shopping is the best time to get good deals. You can get good brands at offers from 50 percent to 70 percent. And I am currently satisfied at what I have bought. Can’t wait to wear them. And oh.. now I will always shop at Forever 21.

Ted Baker Shirts @ VivoCity

Yesterday, we decided to explore VivoCity at HarbourFront, Singapore. I was actually hoping to catch the Christmas Sales and wanted to get a few shirts before the mad rush during the weekend.

To my utter disappointment, there were no sales. I guess they are waiting for next week before they start their Christmas Clearance Sale. (I think they know that people buy Christmas Gifts last minute so its better to entice them later instead of now.)

Well we then just walked around to see the Men’s fashion. Zara had the typical clothes and wasn’t interested in any except for a unique t-shirt (i will post it when i buy it) . Same with Giordano/U2/G2000. Gap was atrocious with it’s ridiculous line of fashion for men though that didn’t stop people from buying it (honestly over-rated thanks largely to it being an American brand & typical Singaporeans going for brand and price rather than quality & design). Topman line concentrated heavily on the typical teenager/young adult fashion blaring it’s alternative British look. River Island too seems to be a copycat of Topman.

However, i chanced upon this quaint nice looking shop known as Ted Baker. It looked just like a typical boutique having the same lines of clothes. What a false assumption that would have been! It was indeed a TREASURE TROVE!

Ted Baker is a boutique GOD-SEND (can’t avoid the connection to Adam Monroe of Heroes Season 2). It’s a gift from the heavens as it’s style is utterly unique and original with a touch of class. Its designs avoided the typical bland stripe shirts which are everywhere now and the quality of the shirts are simply to die for. Touching it alone can make you go like “I wanna wear this for the rest of my life”.

Here are samples

The only disadvantage is that it’s kinda expensive. Around $100 – $150 for a shirt due to it being a London brand. However, i am eagerly awaiting for their Christmas Sale. Hahaha. Happy Shopping PEOPLE!
